Andrea's Fundraising For Our Jay Foundation

On Sunday the 28th April 2024 Andrea, who is normally located behind the Service Desk at Great Central Auto will be running the  Coventry Half Marathon 2024, to help raise funds for the OurJay Foundation, which was setup up in memory of Jamie Rees, who was lost to a cardiac arrest in January 2022, aged just 18. The nearest defibrillator to Jamie, on the night he collapsed, was devastatingly locked inside a school and was not accessible to the people trying desperately to save his life. An ambulance took 18 minutes The Our Jay Foundation started OurJay fundraising on 26th January, to purchase a 24/7 accessible defibrillator for Ashlawn School (which cost approx £1500)...they quickly realised that they had  reached double the target..so they decided to keep going. They have so far raised £250,000 and have just installed their 129 accessible defibrillator, with a further 15 already waiting to be installed across Warwickshire. But, they keep going for their boy!   Accessible defibrillators are needed, everywhere. Cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, anywhere, any time at any age. With a defibrillator available within 8 minutes, it can increase the chance of a persons survival by up to 70%.

Andrea managed to successfully complete the Coventry Half Marathon in a time of 03:09:35 raising a total of £420 for the Our Jay founcation, Which will be facilitating the installation of an accessible defibrilator outside Andrea's plce of work Great Central Auto, thanks to the Our Jay Foundation.
